Kevin Trappeniers is in residence at C-TAKT this week to work in the studio on his project Present.

Present is a series of in situ interventions in cities, buildings, public space, nature. The interventions often explore the notion of negative space: what becomes visible through the process of removing rather than the process of adding? How do nothingness and absence just offer the possibility of presence? Present sets itself the goal of assigning renewed layers of identity to familiar spaces. It is a gentle call to remain aware of the spaces we inhabit as a community and as individuals, as well as a caring gift to cast known realities in a new light. Every action, small or larger, is an artistic, visual commentary that activates the imagination.

Present will be experienced during Beyond the Black Box Antwerp.
