C-TAKT+ program – fall 2024
03.10.2024
C-TAKT+ supports artists who work at the intersection of different disciplines and explores new ways to present their work. Seven cultural organisations from the region have committed to include C-TAKT projects in their programme, creating a network of presentation spaces. The aim is to make contemporary performing arts more accessible and to enrich the cultural field.
The participating cultural centres are: CC MUZE (Heusden-Zolder), CC Palethe (Pelt), De Bogaard (Sint-Truiden), CC De Werft (Geel), CCHA (Hasselt) and C-mine (Genk). The C-TAKT+ programme for the autumn of 2024 can be found below. Tickets can be purchased via the website of the relevant cultural centre.

Finding Willard
10 october 2024 – 20.15 – de Werft, Geel
Info & tickets: dewerft.be
Theatre maker Tom Struyf accidentally arrives in a village near the Canadian border. Willard is located on the shores of a vast lake, in the shadow of the ruins of a former psychiatric institution. A chance encounter with a special place results in a compelling trip. Finding Willard is a travel story, a personal quest about construction and decay, care and community.
OORtreders
17, 18 & 19 october 2024 – CC Palethe, Pelt
In October 2024, it will be time again: a new edition of the OORtreders festival will take place during the third weekend of October. During this festival, sound art will be central. The festival program brings together sound installations and performances around the central theme of connection: with nature, with ourselves, with the other. In CC Palethe you can see several performances, and prior to the festival weekend, from the end of September, you can already discover several sound installations.

A mass of balls overwhelms two acrobatic performers. The white balls are far from perfect: not quite round, all uneven and also far too many. They roll around drumming, jump in all directions, suddenly bubble up in a mouth or irrevocably stick to the ceiling. With this, this company invites everyone not to keep all the balls in the air. That sometimes falling brings new possibilities, iRRooTTa shows in this auditory and visual circus performance for everyone from four years old. Overstimulated parents are also allowed.
Our Solo – Claire Croizé
19 october 2024 – 15.30 – CC Palethe, Pelt ihkv OORtreders
Info & tickets: palethe.be
Our Solo is a solo that is not a solo. Claire Croizé returns as a dancer and shares the stage with the versatile Kazakh violinist Aisha Orazbayeva, known for her fearless interpretations of contemporary music and radical approach to old repertoire. Both seek the boundaries of their own medium and are inspired by each other’s presence. Our Solo is an intuitive artistic musical dance dialogue that results in unheard compositions and unseen choreographies.

In newpolyphonies rewired, the spectator, surrounded by 20 small speakers, is carried away on a journey in constant change, where soundscapes appear, only to crawl under the skin again. The sound is infectious, stirring the air and making undulating patterns vibrate, to the point of a slight dizziness.
My August Feels Like December – Pieter Desmet
14 november 2024 – 20.15 – de Werft, Geel
Info & tickets: dewerft.be
With My August feels like December, Pieter Desmet creates an intimate, multidisciplinary dance performance. Contemporary dance, digital video art, sound and textile scenography together develop a contemporary mourning ritual. Mourning and sadness are feelings that everyone has to deal with sooner or later. Yet this is all too often surrounded by a hidden, almost voyeuristic veil. Pieter wants to bring mourning out of the shadows and make comfort more self-evident.
Chaos – Making sense of an ending – Thomas Ryckewaert
14 november 2024 – 20.15 – C-mine, Genk
Info & tickets: cmine.be
In Chaos – Making sense of an ending, biologist and actor Thomas Ryckewaert tries to understand recent events: the sudden death of his father, the lockdown, ecological disasters and growing defeatism. Supported by mathematics, ecology, sci-fi, diary fragments and Playstation games, he battles his demons. Chaos blurs the boundaries: between the inner and outer world, between reality and madness. In this performance, art and science forge an alliance, searching for the place of man in our dizzying world.
Crash Test – Ine Claes & Line Bogaerts
17 november 2024 – 14.00 & 16.15 – CC Palethe, Pelt ihkv Kunstendag voor Kinderen
Info & tickets: palethe.be
Visual artist Line Boogaerts & music and performance maker Ine Claes present their new performance Crash Test. This project brings drawing, sound and movement into dialogue with children between the ages of 9 and 12 who participate as performers. In Crash Test, Line draws on a large glass plate. The drawings are projected onto a projection screen hanging in the space. The children are part of a ‘tableau vivant’ as they move through the space on a course that has been laid out for them on the floor. The children move with objects and costumes, their movements and poses form shadows on the screen.
BERLIN – The making of Berlin
5 december 2024 – 20.15 – CC MUZE, Heusden-Zolder
Info & tickets: muze.be
The making of Berlin is a portrait of a city, built around the exceptional story of a Berliner who worked as an orchestra director at the Berliner Philharmoniker. A man who would most like to go back in time to complete an unfinished chapter in his life. BERLIN, with the help of, among others, the orchestra of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, radio station Klara and the German actor Martin Wuttke, commits itself to assist the man in realizing his dream. However, along the way they find cracks in his story and the entire project is put at risk.
