FADAT – a performance collective consisting of Dutch-Iranian brother and sister Manuel Groothuysen and Diane Mahín – will create new material during their residency at C-Takt, based on the linguistic concept of ‘prosody’. Prosody is the study of language from a musical perspective, it analyses language from musical elements: rhythm, dynamics, pitch, timbre etc. The two performers will make the absurdity of language palpable through a formal approach to text, partly by using repetition and distortion techniques.
