Join us for an uncommon journey to encounter and celebrate European artistic diversity in the field of art in public space. For this special occasion, exactly 20 years after the creation of the network, IN SITU invites you to discover the achievements of (UN)COMMON SPACES.

On this afternoon you will discover no fewer than 15 different artists from all corners of Europe. And all of this in and around the Provincial Domain Dommelhof.

What is IN SITU

IN SITU is the European platform for artistic creation in public space. Since its creation in 2003, it has supported around 300 artists working outside conventional venues and contributing to the transformation of our territories. IN SITU is an ecosystem connecting artists with audiences, programmers, and key-players involved in the social and political realities around Europe. From 2020 to 2024, IN SITU coordinates the cooperation project (UN)COMMON SPACES bringing together 18 partners, 16 Associate artists, 16 Associate citizens from 13 different countries.

Grand opening

TH 18 APR. • 14.00 – 15.00 • Theatre Dommelhof

We start the afternoon with a welcoming word by the In Situ-organization. Which will be the opportuntiy to introduce the results and stories of the project(UN)COMMON SPACES before diving into the artistic programme of the afternoon.

Artistic explorations

TH 18 APR. • 15.00 – 19.30 • different locations on the domain, the park and in the citycentre of Pelt

15 artists supported during the project will showcase their work: from live performances to installations andworkshops. The detailed programme will be shared in the coming weeks.

Festive diner

TH 18 APR. • from 19.30 • BAR DOMMELHOF

We conclude with a festive dinner. In the bar of Dommelhof you will be offered diner and drinks and you will have the opportunity to further reflect and talk to all the artists.
