hEAR DROPS – Sounds & Voices
28.05.2021
Singing can be done in many ways: with your mouth closed or open, by adding sounds with your tongue or lips, or playing with your breath. This episode focuses on playing with vowels. To sing vowels, your mouth must open in some way. Your voice will then reach further.
Many interpretations of this composition can be found on the internet. Why not make your own version?
The coloration of this video was inspired by Les Coquelicots, a painting by Claude Monet made in 1873. In this episode Monet’s flowers have been omitted. This makes us aware that, when you leave out one aspect of a composition, the whole atmosphere changes.
hEAR DROPS promotes cooperation between children and adults based on shared criteria. The principle is simple: watch an episode together, discuss what you’ve seen and heard, watch again, interpret the rules of the game, discuss context and materials, perform together, evaluate together.
